Programs – Career Workshops
The Honorable Mr. Rodney Slater, the Former Secretary of the Department of Transportation, recently stated that knowledge is so powerful that you can give it away and yet still have it. Our workshops are designed to do just that – give away knowledge to youth and their parents. Informative workshops provide insight into career options that exist for those with math and science backgrounds. These sessions include interaction with professionals who share experiences, become mentors and role models, and provide guidance and direction. The goal of the career workshops is to provide information and stimulate interest in math, science and technical fields.
The Honorable Mr. Rodney Slater, a former Secretary of the Department of Transportation recently stated that knowledge is so powerful that you can give it away and yet still have it. Workshops are designed to provide a wealth of knowledge on numerous career options and afford the opportunity to interact with professionals who share real life experiences about their preparations and career field. Seeing yourself doing something or being someone before it happens can help you realize your dream. Presenters, role models and mentors provide answers to pertinent questions about desired careers and information is shared about non-traditional career fields that many of you may not be familiar with.
Learn about designing computer games or develop manufacturing techniques for potato chips or design aspects of tennis shoes or animation techniques utilized by Disney and so much more.
